UIC has many important resources that support the research mission of the department and university. The University is home to state-of-the-art research facilities built and utilized by Physics researchers. Our researchers work in many of America’s premier national laboratories. Physics researchers at UIC are also involved in significant collaboration with other research laboratories and companies.

LAS Physical Sciences Machine Shop Heading link
The LAS Physical Sciences Machine Shop is a state-of-the-art machine shop located at the ground floor of the SES building. Anyone is welcome to walk in and discuss their needs with the machine shop staff. The shop is staffed with world-class experts in instrument making and laboratory mechanics who can work from formal drawings to hand written sketches.
Electronics Shop and Computing Assistance Heading link
The Electronics Shop at the Department of Physics is currently staffed with Graduate Assistants who provide computing assistance to researchers and staff. An inventory of electronics materials is also available at room 2384 SES.
