Serdar Ogut selected as University Scholar for 2014
Professor Serdar Ogut has been selected as a University Scholar for 2014. The University Scholars Program was created to honor and reward outstanding teachers and scholars. The citation noted that "Professor Ogut’s pioneering research focuses on theoretical investigations of the electronic and structural properties of materials from first principles. His work has important applications in electronic materials and semiconductor nano-crystals. He serves as a National Science Foundation program director and was elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society." For more details please see the UIC News 10/28/14 article.
