Misha Stephanov elected as American Physical Society Fellow

Congratulations to Professor Misha Stephanov, who was elected as an American Physical Society Fellow! Professor Stephanov’s citation reads: “For seminal contributions to the theory of high energy density strongly interacting matter, and to the understanding of strong interactions in the strong coupling limit and for being among the first to propose the use of fluctuations to search for phase transitions in heavy ion collisions, for which there is now an active experimental program at the RHIC accelerator”. His main field of research is in the realm of strong interactions and its applications, including heavy ion collisions. Election to Fellowship in the American Physical Society is limited to no more than one half of one percent of the membership and is recognition of outstanding contributions to physics.
