Arnold Bodmer honored at UIC Legacies & Leaders event
Professor Emeritus Arnold Bodmer was honored at the 2015 Legacies & Leaders event held on the evening of April 23, 2015. UIC President Easter and president-designate Timothy Killeen spoke at the event that was hosted by Chancellor Amiridis. Professor Bodmer was highlighted in the Inspire Discovery section of the program which honored those who support research, in particular through the Arnold R. and Doris E. Bodmer Science Travel Award that Professor Bodmer and his wife founded. Also attending the event were Arnold's son Edward, who is a UIUC alumnus, Edward's wife Jill, and Edward's son and Arnold's grandson Nicholas, who is a UIC and LAS alumnus. A very nice video tribute was shown featuring Michael Ricketts, a PhD student in the Biological Sciences who was also in attendance at the event. Michael was a recipient of the Bodmer Travel Award for his research, and you can read more about Michael's research that was supported in part by the Bodmer travel award in the Spring 2014 edition of AtLAS.
