To Jargon or Not to Jargon

Everyone knows academic writing has too much jargon. Except that not everyone agrees. An article in ​The Chronicle of Higher Education by legal scholar Cass Sunstein defends scholarly verbiage against its critics – and cites a paper co-authored by Professor James Unwin in the name of worthwhile jargon. Unwin’s paper will appear in ​The Journal of High Energy Physics, and is available on the open access arXiv preprint repository. Be prepared to encounter five-syllable words if you click the link!
