Chiral Gauge Theories for Dark Sector Construction
To date, particle physicists have one, reasonably successful quantum field theory that describes the interactions of fundamental particles, the Standard Model. Using the Standard Model as inspiration, I will discuss a straightforward process that uses a larger symmetry group, such as SO(10), to generate an anomaly-free, chiral subgroup, that can also be non-Abelian. I will also discuss a particular one of these subgroups, and our effort to use it as a solution to the dark matter and neutrino mass puzzles.
