Dark matter and gauged flavor symmetries
We explore the phenomenology of flavored dark matter in a model with gauged flavor symmetries. The dark matter stability is protected by a remnant Z3 symmetry that is a subgroup of the standard model flavor group. Focusing on the case where the flavor symmetry of the quark sector if fully gauged, we show that a Dirac fermion dark matter has a mass in the range [0.5,5] TeV in order to satisfy the constraints. Such a bound does not exist in general and we demonstrate this for Higgs-portal scalar dark matter. For both cases, we derive the flavor, cosmological, direct- and indirect-detection, and collider constraints.
