Title: Hidden interactions of quarks
Abstract: The quarks feel all five types of boson-mediated interactions: electromagnetic, strong, weak, Higgs and gravitational. I will discuss theoretical and experimental constraints on hypothetical new interactions among quarks, focusing on a simple type of mediator: a Z-prime boson. Interactions of this type can be hidden if the Z-prime boson has a very large mass (probed at the LHC) or very weak couplings (probed by intensity-frontier experiments). A related question is how strongly can quarks interact with dark matter; one way of addressing it is to search for dark matter beams, produced at fixed-target experiments, using neutrino near-detectors.
