Title: Three Topics in Scholarly Communication
Abstract: In this seminar the following topics will be addressed and these questions will be answered.
The university, the state, and the United States are all in the process of setting up Open Access requirements for people who are employed by them or get grants from them. What is (and isn't) open access? What do open access requirements mean for you?
How do we currently measure scientific output? What do these measurements mean and what don't they mean? How is the way we can measure science changing, and what impact will that have on you?
Why does data management matter? How do you go about making sure you do it to the satisfaction of yourself and funding entities?
