Title:  Free Quarks in excited vacuum
Abstract: There are two contemporary physics unknowns fundamental to the Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD): free quarks and symmetry restoration in excited QCD vacuum. Studying behavior of heavy-quarks and color screen effect of quarkonia (via dilepton channel) in Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) will allow us to observe the exciting phenomenon of free quarks and use them as probe of the properties of QGP. Dileptons from thermal radiation and vector meson decays in medium serve as a penetrating probe into the bulk QGP medium and are expected to improve our understanding of whether the chiral symmetry is restored at high temperature. Recent results and future programs on quarkonia and low-mass dilepton from RHIC and LHC, directly addressing these important issues, will be presented.
