Title: "Asymptotic safety - a testable theory of quantum gravity?"

Abstract: I will introduce the basic idea behind asymptotically safe quantum gravity, and explain how it allows to construct a quantum field theory for gravity, based on a fixed point of the Renormalization Group flow, generalizing the concept of asymptotic freedom. I will then review the main evidence for the consistency of this scenario. Most importantly, I will discuss how it could provide a unified quantum theory of gravity and all interactions. This will also open the door for experimental tests, e.g., at the LHC: I will present evidence for the consistency of the matter content of the Standard Model with this scenario, and will also point out that several "New Physics" scenarios, such as extra dimensions or supersymmetry, seem to be incompatible with it.
