Hallie Trauger chosen as Teaching Fellow by Knowles Science Teaching Foundation
Hallie Trauger was chosen by the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation as a member of its 2015 cohort of Teaching Fellows. This year, 34 promising high school mathematics and science teachers who are just beginning their careers were awarded KSTF Teaching Fellowships.

Hallie earned a Bachelor of Science in political science from The University of Chicago in 2010, a Master of Science in physics from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2014, and a Master of Education in secondary science education from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2015. In addition to starting her teaching career, Hallie plans to continue pursuing her PhD in physics.
KSTF seeks to improve STEM education by building a stable, sustainable cadre of networked leading teachers, who are trained and supported as leaders from the beginning of their careers. The KSTF Teaching Fellows Program—the Foundation’s signature program—offers stipends, funds for professional development, grants for teaching materials, professional development and coaching from a staff of experienced teachers and teacher educators, support from a national network of mathematics and science teachers, and opportunities to take on leadership and mentoring within KSTF and beyond through a comprehensive five-year Fellowship. With an emphasis on inquiry and collaboration, the Teaching Fellows Program supports participants as they advance their teaching practice and student learning, while leading from the classroom.
