"Planning for Life After Your Thesis"
Cynthia Graham, Assistant Director of UIC Office of Career Services (OCS) will provide a presentation of the available services offered by OCS. Highlighting non-academic career routes and the support offered by OCS in finding and internships, work on-campus, exploring career options, or preparing for an upcoming interview.
Prof. Corrinne Mills (UIC/Fermilab) will offer her perspectives on the traditional academic career path post-PhD, involving first postdoctoral research positions, and subsequently finding a tenure
track professorship. She will discuss the opportunities and potential pitfalls of the academic career route along with her personal experiences.
