About

Dr. Ye obtained his PhD degree from University of Hamburg in 2006. He joined UIC in 2012 after working as a research associate at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. Dr. Ye's current research focuses on experimental studies of Quantum Chromodynamics through measurements of heavy particle production and structure of the nucleons with the STAR experiment on Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory, and the CMS experiment on the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, Switzerland. Dr. Ye is also involved in developing cutting-edge particle detectors for current and future high energy experiments. His work includes the STAR Intermediate Silicon Tracker (2014-2016), STAR Forward Silicon Tracker (2021-2025), CMS MIP Timing Detector (2028-), and time-of-flight detectors for future experiments at Jefferson National Accelerator Facility and the Electron-Ion-Collider (2031-).
